Terms and Conditions

Acceptance of These Terms

By using americanhomecontractors.com, requesting an estimate, booking an appointment or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our online ordering tools.

Estimates and Pricing

  • Online estimates, instant roof estimates and cost configurator results are for planning purposes only and are not a binding offer or contract.
  • Final pricing is set in a written contract after an in-person or virtual site survey confirms measurements, roof layers, decking condition, access, permit requirements and material selections.
  • Promotional prices, such as tune-up specials, apply only to the services described, may change or end at any time, and cannot be combined with other offers unless stated.
  • Hidden conditions found during work, such as rotted decking, damaged framing or code-required upgrades, may require a written change order before additional work is performed.

Written Contracts

All home improvement work is performed under a separate written contract signed by you and American Home Contractors. The contract describes the scope of work, materials, price, payment schedule, approximate start and completion dates, and warranty terms. If anything in the contract conflicts with these website terms, the signed contract controls.

Project Order Terms

Thank you for placing your order with American Home Contractors! After we receive your order, we will begin the process of confirming the order details and will schedule a site visit as part of the ordering process. The “estimated price” is an estimate based on the information provided in the cost configurator. This price may change depending on additional information received from the site survey.

You may cancel the order at any time prior to the final contract agreement.

Tune Up/Site Survey Order Terms

Thank you for placing your order with American Home Contractors! After we receive your order, we will begin the process of scheduling your service appointment. You may also instantly book online through our website.

Your Right to Cancel

You may cancel an online order at any time before the final contract agreement is signed. Where state law gives you a right to cancel a signed home improvement or home solicitation contract, including a contract signed in your home, you may cancel within the period required by law, generally three business days, by written notice as described in your contract. Deposits returnable under that right will be refunded as required by law. See our Return Policy for product returns.

Deposits and Payments

  • Deposits and payment milestones are listed in your contract and follow Maryland and Virginia law, including any limits on the amount of a deposit collected before work begins.
  • Payments can be made by the methods listed on our Online Payments page.
  • Financing is offered through third-party lenders, subject to credit approval and the lender's own terms. American Home Contractors is not the lender.

Scheduling, Access and Site Conditions

  • Appointment and installation dates are estimates and may shift because of weather, material availability, permit or HOA approval timing, or utility coordination.
  • You agree to provide safe access to the work area, electricity and water as needed, and to move vehicles, outdoor furniture and fragile items away from the work area.
  • We take care to protect your property, including landscaping and driveways, but we are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or for items not moved as requested.

Permits, Codes and HOA Approvals

We obtain building permits required for our work unless your contract says otherwise. Homeowners are responsible for homeowner association or architectural review approvals unless we agree in writing to handle them. All work is performed to meet applicable local building codes at the time of installation.

Warranties

Manufacturer warranties, such as GAF, Tesla, James Hardie and window or door manufacturer warranties, are provided by the manufacturer under their own terms and registration requirements. Our workmanship warranty is described in your contract. Warranties do not cover damage from storms beyond rated limits, misuse, alterations or repairs by others, or lack of reasonable maintenance.

Solar, Battery and Electrical Work

Solar production estimates, savings figures and tax credit or incentive information are estimates, not guarantees. Actual results depend on weather, shading, energy use and utility rates. Tax credits and incentives are determined by government agencies and utilities; please consult a tax professional. Interconnection and permission to operate are granted by your utility, and timing is outside our control.

Licensing

American Home Contractors is licensed by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC 31337-03) and the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR 2705190396). Maryland homeowners may have access to the Maryland Home Improvement Guaranty Fund, and Virginia homeowners may have access to the Virginia Contractor Transaction Recovery Fund, as provided by state law.
